Description:
Actalent is seeking an experienced Quality Manager who will report to the GM and will be expected to hit the ground running. They will be expected to plug into current quality system and slowly evolve it into their own.
Responsibilities:
- Develops long term strategies and goals for quality improvement efforts. Helps coordinate efforts with other departments to facilitate process improvement and cost reduction.
- Give daily directions to dimensional, NDE, and shop personnel on QA issues, as needed.
- Coordinate inspections
- Review dimensional reports from vendors and our client
- Communicate with the foundry on dimensional and quality issues.
- Go to vendors to review machining, dimensional issues and NDE evaluations as may be needed.
- Perform oversight/evaluations of inspection personnel as may be needed.
- Maintain training and testing program, create new written tests.
- Interview potential new employees for both QA, Inspection and other areas.
- Maintain calibration check list for Inspection equipment.
- Develop, review, write and approve procedures for Inspection department.
Qualifications:
- BS or AS Degree in Engineering field.
- Three to five years of QA experience in metals manufacturing is required in addition to work experience in industrial inspection preferred.
- QA experience in metal manufacturing (Ferrous & Non-Ferrous castings).
- Previous experience managing a Quality System or Program.
- Strong experience with ASME Codes (Sections 2, 3, 5, 8, 9) and/or Military Specifications (MIL-STD-271 & MIL-STD-278) preferred.
- Experience in steel foundry operations, welding, heat treating, machining, materials preferred.
- Experience with process writing and editorials.
- Familiarity with Nondestructive Examinations (Visual, Magnetic Particle, Liquid Penetrant, Radiography, and Ultrasonic testing).
