Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Quality Technician to join our team. This role involves ensuring product quality, correct material usage, and adherence to specifications on the production floor. The position offers a clear progression path with opportunities for raises and increased responsibilities.

Responsibilities

• Set up computer and desk, check emails, and other communication channels.
• Proceed to the production floor to ensure product quality, correct material usage, and adherence to specifications.
• Take specifications and walk the production line.
• Apply accurate code dates and inspect seals.
• Ensure correct cheese types and cuts are used.
• Verify the accuracy of code lengths.
• Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) when handling cheese.
• Enforce Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) throughout operations.
• Conduct observations and report any issues encountered.
• Perform pre-operation inspections during the shift.
• Walk through rooms post-sanitation to ensure cleanliness.
• Provide support to night shift technicians and sanitation crew.
• Approximately 60-80% of the shift is spent on the production floor conducting checks and the remaining time is allocated to documenting issues and communicating via emails.

• No specific education requirements, suitable for entry-level candidates or HS graduates.

Work Environment

The position is on the 2nd shift with hours from 8:00pm-6:30am or 4:30pm-3:00am Monday-Thursday, with some overtime required on Fridays. Training will start on the 1st shift and then move to the regular shift. New technicians undergo training during the day, supervised by experienced technicians. Upon transitioning to night shifts, technicians work alongside one other technician. Currently, there are four technicians on day shifts and two on night shifts. The 3rd shift is currently running 2 production lines, with plans to expand to 3-4 lines in the coming months. The production staff at night is around 80 employees, with a total of 245 employees. The work environment involves working independently in individual rooms on nights. The temperature ranges from 35-65 degrees throughout the plant. The dress code includes casual attire, closed-toe shoes, PPE provided by the company, hoodies allowed, but no shorts or capris. Jewelry, false nails, and false eyelashes are not allowed.
