Responsible for all safety aspects of the company. Responsible for knowledge of OSHA, NFPA 70e, Federal & State & Local Regulations, customer GMPs, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Safety orientation of all new employees
- Inspections of all construction & customer jobsites
- Incident investigation; Recommendation of disciplinary action
- Developing and implementing all safety policies; Creation and maintenance of PDC Safety Manual
- Research or procurement of all PPE and safety items needed; Distribution of all PPE and maintain all employee issued PPE records
- Development and leading of all Safety training programs
- Completion of OSHA and related record keeping
- Completion of all safety award applications; Completion of all safety forms required for bids/estimates
- Hold all customer safety programs and GMPs (Good Manufacturing Practices); Liaison between jobsites/employees and management regarding safety policies and safety equipment
- Create and implement PDC Safety Budget
- Oversee PDC Safety Committee; facilitate monthly committee meetings
- Oversee PDC Employee Safety Award Program
- Related duties as needed or assigned
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
- Degree in safety or related field
- Good working knowledge of OSHA (completion of OSHA 10hr and OSHA 30hr classes)
- Ability to travel to job sites & inspect a variety of types of locations
- Ability to sit 50% and stand/walk 50% of work time; Ability to climb, bend, stoop, crawl into tight spaces
- Personal computer skills: Microsoft Office products
- Strong verbal and written communications skills
- Independence skills: a self-starter with the ability to work efficiently on their own
- Team skills: a team player with the willingness to help others within the department, as well as within the company
- Assist and Monitor safety training requirements for all employees in coordination of assigned tasks and skills.
- Safety or electrical/construction experience or have demonstrated knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform the above-mentioned tasks.
