Job Title: Security Software Engineer
Job Description
This role involves developing tools to provide secure network services, including cryptographic key generation, storage, and management. The individual will be a part of the Space Networking R&D Laboratory development team.
Responsibilities
- Develop tools for secure network services.
- Implement cryptographic key generation, storage, and management solutions.
- Work within the Space Networking R&D Laboratory to develop innovative solutions.
- Utilize C, C , Python, and other scripting tools for software development.
- Develop secure network communications over the internet using IPSec and related technologies.
- Implement secure communication using off-the-shelf software packages and cryptographic hardware.
Essential Skills
- Proficiency in C, C , and Python.
- Experience with IPSec, network communications, RTOS, and VxWorks.
- 5 years of experience in developing secure network communications over the internet using IPSec.
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux operating systems.
- Understanding of internetworking protocols, including TCP/IP.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
- Familiarity with security standards, cybersecurity requirements, and regulations.
- Experience in space applications.
- Knowledge of Agile and DevOps practices.
- Understanding of IETF and CCSDS standards.
- Experience with Delay Tolerant Networking and Bundle Protocol.
Work Environment
This is an onsite position, requiring attendance 5 days a week in Houston. This exciting company is working on cutting-edge projects, including record-breaking work on the Lunar network.

Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $100000.00 - $150000.00
This company comes with a full relocation package, as well as a 401K Match. In addition, there is an opportunity for surge bonuses as well as some stock options in the future. This role will come with a total of 4 weeks of PTO and will also have small benefits with launch parties, coffee trucks, and other culture-building activities like barbeques and meet and greets with NASA.
