Description:
We are located in Bolingbrook, IL and develop products to wirelessly monitor high-value mobile assets such as locomotives, industrial equipment, and marine vessels.
They are looking for a Software Engineer to develop software for their new VIOLET device.
Responsibilities:
- Will be developing and implementing software in C and Visual C (Visual Studio) in a embedded Windows environment
- 80% development and 20% test
- Candidate will be involved in all phases of design cycle including requirements, design, implementation, validation, and support.
- will work with the team (Hardware, Software, and QA) to develop on-board electronics systems for locomotives
- Will be responsible for monitoring, developing, and validating functionality during software releases.
- Using version control (e.g. Git), test driven development, mobbing and other best practice

Additional Skills & Qualifications:
-BS in EE, CE, CS, SE
- 5 years of software engineering experience in electronics systems
- Must have experience with C
- Must have good Object oriented experience
- Visual Studio experience is a plus
- Windows / Microsoft development environment is preferred. Linux is OK
- Experience with various interface protocols over serial communication and ethernet such as: TCP/IP, RS232, RS422, RS485, J1587)
- C# and .NET core is a plus
- Experience with SQL is a plus
- Must be self-motivated, strong multi tasking, project management skills in a fast changing environment
- Experience with GIT is desired
- Candidate must have done software development for Hardware applications
