What are the responsibilities and job description for the Solidworks Designer position at Actalent?
Description:
Qualifications: Drafter / Designer will prepare detailed working diagrams of Boilers as well as identify areas of improvement to increase efficiency.
• Associates Degree in CAD Drafting is desired (Bachelor’s is ok too).
• SolidWorks: 2-3 years (Required) Candidate will do 3D molding 80% - 100% of the time
• Previous experience in mechanical drafting, manufacturing or other related fields
• Experience with GD&T (understanding of tolerancing on blueprints)
• Materials – Steel, Metals, Stainless, etc – heavier metals and machined parts (weldments is a plus)
• Familiarity with larger part assemblies
• Proficient with Solidworks, PDM, and other related software
• Familiarity with AutoCAD
• Deadline and detail-oriented
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Responsibilities:
• Prepare diagrams and drafts for mechanical devices and machines
• Calculate dimensions and tolerance stack up using measuring instruments
• Comprehend and utilize Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing
• Review and modify designs to reduce production deficiencies
• Provide timely updates for drawing completion and workload
• Coordinate with other colleagues regarding complex diagrams
