What are the responsibilities and job description for the Studio Engineer / Design Engineer position at Actalent?
Description:
We are seeking a talented and innovative Design Engineer to join our team to work on future mobility solutions. Candidate should have a "think outside the box" mindset to work between engineering and design studio during creating of transportation related products.
eg: Taking an existing amphibious vehicle
- Replace diesel engine with Hydrogen Powersystem
- Test vehicle, redesign the hull to meet new needs
Responsibilities:
- Design and develop packaging solutions for products considering factors such as form fit function and manufacturability.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand system requirements and constraints related to packaging.
- Utilize Catia to create engineering drawings
- Select appropriate materials and manufacturing processes
- Work closely with suppliers and vendors to procure and evaluate components ensuring they meet design specifications and quality standards.
- Participate in design reviews and provide technical expertise to identify and resolve issues related to future product
- Collaborate with international teams on how Engineering / Studio / Suppliers will complete projects
Requirements:
- Strong understanding of Design and Manufacturing
- Transportation / Automotive experience
- Diverse background, working with multiple products OR experience working in an Automotive startup wearing many hats.
- Bachelors in Engineering or related field
- Catia
