What are the responsibilities and job description for the Technical Writer position at Actalent?
Actalent is looking to hire an experienced Technical Writer for a client in the Newberg area. This person will partner with different engineering departments to help develop documentation to align with company processes and validate the information contained within the documents as well as make edits to current documents/manuals as needed. Initially this person will join the Technical Writing team in updating current manuals and work instructions then transition to different projects. A proven ability to manage multiple deadlines simultaneously is imperative to success in this position.
The ideal candidate will bring an expertise within FrameMaker and InDesign as well as be able to effectively navigate through SharePoint. Experience in a manufacturing environment highly preferred with complex assemblies and understanding of general manufacturing processes. This role will be primarily independent while working with a tight knit team who can provide support and insight whenever needed. High levels of communication, written and verbal, will set the ideal candidate apart.
Qualifications:
Must have experience with Adobe FrameMaker, inDesign, and MS Sharepoint
5 years of Technical Writing experience
Preference for background in a manufacturing setting, writing internal manuals, SOPs
Hybrid-remote: Work in office in Newberg 1 day/week
