What are the responsibilities and job description for the Test Engineer position at Actalent?
Our client is looking for a individual to join the Product Team within Engineering to test Electronic devices. In this role, you will design, build, and implement test solutions to validate product functionality. To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
Minimum Requirements:
Any combination of education and experience providing the required skill and knowledge for successful performance would be acceptable.
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field
- Familiar with commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in engineering or related field
- Knowledge of Python programming language, as well as commonly used concepts, practices and procedures in the area of engineering and product testing
- Knowledge of circuit schematics mechanical design criteria, software/firmware programming languages, testing techniques, operating systems, and issue tracking software, etc.
- 2 - 4 years’ experience in fundamental engineering/test or equivalent experience involving test plan development and test plan implementation, including meeting time estimates and schedules.
Key Accountabilities and Essential Functions:
- Interacts with other project members to determine best method for testing product, system or component
- Reads, analyzes and understands detailed specifications or product requirements
- Defines and implements test methods and develops test plan, including test case scenarios that will ensure product requirements are met, executing both manual tests and automated scripts, and logging defects in a problem tracking database
- Develop Automated Test Solutions to validate existing and new product functionality
- Develop and/or use existing testing APIs
