What are the responsibilities and job description for the Vehicle Technician position at Actalent?
This is an onsite role located in Troy.
The “Vehicle Instrumentation Technician” role is centered around the build-up of prototype active safety and autonomous vehicles. The successful candidate for this role has a self-starting mentality, technical knowledge of the automotive electronics, can influence and accept direction from other technicians and engineers, and enjoys working hands-on with prototype vehicles.
Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM to 4:00 PM, some overtime paid at time and a half
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Conduct vehicle maintenance and assist test engineers with Autonomous Vehicle system checkout and testing issues
- Wiring harness fabrication
- Vehicle teardown and rebuild
- Vehicle and system diagnostics including CAN, Flexray, and Ethernet
Requirements
- Hands-on vehicle experience
- Wire harness fabrication
- CAN experience (highly preferred)
- Technical certification/diploma or work experience as an Automotive Technician
