Immediate Need for a Construction Owners Representative
Description:
Our Client has an need for a Owners Representative/Inspector that is located in Central Indiana (Greater Indianapolis).
JOB DESCRIPTION
Job duties include conducting on-site observations to monitor progress and quality of work with the contract documents; serving as the engineer's liaison with the contractor; maintaining adequate records, including a daily logbook and a set of drawings on which authorized changes are noted; reviewing the contractor's application for payment; and other duties as assigned.
TYPES OF PROJECTS:
Municipal Water Distribution systems and Wastewater Collection systems
- Water Treatment Plants
- Wastewater Treatment Plants
- Water lines--underground
- Sewer lines--underground
JOB RESPONSIBILTIES
- Must remain on the job site for the entirety of the project's construction.
- Maintain detailed reports as required of progress of the work and of contractor's compliance with the progress schedule.
- Review progress schedule, shop drawing and sample submittals, schedule of values, and other submittals prepared by contractor.
- Attend meetings with contractor, such as preconstruction conferences, progress meetings, job conferences, and others.
- Comply with site safety programs.
- Assist engineer in serving as owner's liaison with contractor and obtaining additional details or information as required.
- Review applications for payment with contractor for compliance with the established procedure for their submission.
- Forward any recommendations to the assigned engineer.
- Other duties as assigned.
TRAVEL:
- Candidates must be open and willing to travel (overnight). They will stay in hotel/apartment at times for projects. They need to be good with staying away from home.
- This firm has projects all throughout the State of Indiana and will do their best to keep people as close to their homes as possible. However, candidates will need to go where the work is and be willing to work out of town.
- Candidates will use their own personal vehicle and be reimbursed 65.5 cents per mile
- Projects that are within 1-2 hours of the persons home are typically a commute back and forth. If the commute to the project site is over 90 minutes then the company will look to see what is more cost effective--mileage everyday OR hotel/apartment
- Hotels will be paid for by the company (directly paid by our client). At times the person will be set up with an apartment which will be paid for as well.
- Per Diem will be $40 per day--paid directly by our client
LOCATION:
- This firm does work all across Indiana, so as mentioned above this person will need to travel
- For this position the person needs to be located in Central Indiana (Indianapolis and surrounding area)
DURATION/HOURS:
This is a contract to hire position (9 months). This person will be working standard construction hours (7A-4P)--there will be some overtime as well. Candidates need to be prepared to work up to 50 hours as needed.
PAY RATES:
- RPR 1: $28 - 31/hr
- RPR 2: $32 - 34.50/hr
- RPR 3: $34.50 - 38/hr (this would need to be a very qualified individual)
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
Nice to have:
- Any inspection or utility construction certifications (NAASCO or INDOT)
- Familiarity with federally funded infrastructure projects
- Experience using Procore
- Ability to read construction plans
