ACTIA Electronics, an electronics manufacturing Supply Chain Solutions Company, is a successful and growing organization that is expanding at a very fast pace both domestically and internationally. We are a key link in supply chains worldwide, with a broad and diverse range of services from simple printed circuit board (PCB) assemblies to product engineering, testing and development.

We are currently looking for a Material Planner to join our team in Romulus, MI. The Material Planner is responsible for managing inventory and purchasing procedures of raw materials and other supplies within a company. A material planner will collaborate with buyers and other managers to determine supply needs, purchase supplies and materials according to specifications and coordinate and supervise receiving procedures.

Position Qualifications:

  • The Planner must be a highly motivated and organized individual with leadership and communication abilities.
  • 3 years' experience in logistics role or related experience
  • Customer service-oriented
  • Familiarity with supply chain and inventory management systems
  • Knowledgeable of forecasting and budgeting
  • Ability to solve problems swiftly.
  • Working knowledge of SAP MM
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office
  • Proficiency and MRP Base knowledge (Movex, EDIs, Vendor Forecast Management)

Required Duties/Tasks to be accomplished:

  • Coordinating production workflow for ACTIA Electronics. Plan and prioritize operations to ensure maximum performance and minimum delay. Determining manpower, equipment and raw materials needed to cover production demand.
  • Ensuring that all requirements are met by the Supply Chain Department.
  • Ensure that ERP/MRP is running according to planning and Procurement agents are compliant with MRP Process.
  • Meet weekly with Purchasing group to review all open projects and discuss “big picture” objectives and course of action. (Purchasing could be in USA or France)
  • Responsible for managing overall inventory levels, increasing inventory turns, while keep an uninterrupted flow of material for manufacturing.
  • Manage and oversee all ACTIA/Vendor communication, forecast, EDIs ensuring that professional and ethical behavior is always maintained.
  • Offer assistance to Quality when needed for Vendor interaction regarding fit, form, and function of purchased parts.
  • Develop and manage continuous improvement techniques and methods to internal processes and systems.

Miscellaneous Duties:

  • Maintains optimum inventory levels to ensure on-time deliveries to meet customer requirements.
  • Responsible for continuing programs of exploration for new materials, suppliers, and processes to achieve the best possible quality, reliability, prices, continuity, and delivery
  • Interfaces with product line coordinators on the planning and forecasting of customer orders to meet shipments
  • Maintain relationships and negotiate with suppliers
  • Purchase supplies and materials according to specifications
  • Ensures that the company standard practices and procedures are followed in connection with all materials department functions
  • Other duties as assigned

The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock and moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
