What are the responsibilities and job description for the Administrative Assistant position at Action Resources?
JOB SUMMARY: As an Administrative Assistant for Action Resources, you will work with our operations team to provide outstanding administrative and customer service support to both internal and external customers. You will assist with responsibilities including but not limited to: data entry, weekly reporting, order processing, report generation, billing, and load management.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Collaborate and support Operations team to coordinate, enter and track a variety of loads tendered daily to our company from our customers.
- Receive and accept inbound customer loads as tendered
- Enter and track orders in our Transportation Management System
- Effectively communicate load tender details to operations team
- Ensure that all paperwork and load data is accurate and completed in a timely manner
- Manage customers’ web based portals to insure shipment data is up to date
- Interact with internal and external customers in a collaborative manner continually exceeding customer expectations
- Complete various reports as requested.
- Solicit additional freight opportunities
- Ensure data is accurately maintained entered into Masterfile
- Identify areas for continuous improvement in process and procedures
- Support and adhere to all company quality and safety improvement efforts
- Ability to effectively escalate time sensitive issues as needed
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned
EXPERIENCE AND SKILL REQUIREMENTS:
- Associate degree preferred will consider equivalent education and experience working within the transportation field
- 1-3 years’ experience in the transportation field preferred
- Familiar with Transportation Management Software (ie: TMW, McLeod)
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Ability to develop a creative approach to overcoming hurdles
- Excellent communication skills (oral, written and presentation)
