What will you be doing?
The Electronics Technician II will be responsible for troubleshooting and repairing non-conforming electronic devices and driving continuous improvement of internal processes and test methods, and assembling cables, circuit boards, and other electronic devices.
Essential Functions
- Troubleshoot / Test / Repair Electronic Assemblies to the component level.
- Set up and operate test equipment to evaluate performance of parts, assemblies, or systems under simulated operating conditions, and record results.
- Perform cross-functional tasks such as mechanical and electrical/electronic assembly.
- Maintain detailed records of test procedures, test data, and engineering notes.
- Provide technical guidance to electro-mechanical assemblers.
- Utilize test and measurement equipment and schematics to diagnose non-conforming electronic assemblies.
- Plan method and sequence of operations for testing electronic equipment to drive continuous improvement of internal processes and ensure product quality under engineering review.
- Under the direction of engineering and management plan and coordinate the design and function of developmental testing equipment to meet electronics manufacturing needs.
- Trains and provides guidance to lower-level Technicians.
- Ensure personal compliance with ESD policies.
- Ensure personal compliance with ISO Quality system.
Education and Experience
Required:
- AS degree in Electronics or related, or relevant military certificate of training in Electronics or related field.
- Reliable and dependable without need for constant supervision.
- Ability to read and understand schematics and assembly notes.
- Advanced electronics troubleshooting to component level.
- Good manual dexterity.
- 2 years of experience as an Electronics Technician.
- 2 years of electronics assembly experience including: thru-hole soldering, SMT soldering, and wire harness crimping, soldering, and assembling.
Preferred:
- IPC-A-610 / J-STD-001 certification.
- SMT Pick and Place Machine experience.
- Wave Solder Machine experience.
