RT Program Coordinator

This position is a NBRC credentialed professional who provides respiratory care to patients in alternate sites in accordance with AdaptHealth’s policies and procedures. This position is responsible for the coordination of the Respiratory clinical programs and includes role components of clinician, consultant, educator, and researcher.


Job Duties:

  • Collaborates with clinical staff in assessing, implementing, and evaluating care for patients with complex respiratory needs; provides direct care as appropriate.
  • Serves as an expert clinical resource to staff, patients, and the community.
  • Supports staff in developing advanced clinical skills through coaching, role modeling and educational strategies.
  • Develops and revises clinical respiratory policies and procedures in conjunction with the Corporate Director of Respiratory Services.
  • Participates in community education visits as requested by Respiratory Managers, Corporate Director of Respiratory Services, or the Community Education Department.
  • Identifies variances in standardized respiratory care and respiratory care processes to identify areas for improved performance related to patient care, documentation, and the organization.
  • Advocates for needed patient services or resources based on clearly communicating quantifiable information.
  • Coordinates care with others involved in patient care. Collaborates with all team members, and otherwise provides services needed to achieve patient and program goals.
  • Recommends clinical interventions working collaboratively with all health care team members to achieve desired results.
  • Provides educational services to staff, patients, and the community based on needs assessment.
  • Develops and maintains a competency-based orientation program for respiratory staff.
  • Collaborates with respiratory managers to assess learning needs of staff and to develop, implement, and evaluate short/long term strategies to meet identified educational needs.
  • Identifies and investigates clinical problems implementing appropriate strategies for resolution.
  • Serves as a respiratory leader within the department, agency, and community.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.


Competency, Skills and Abilities: ?

  • Competent in PAP, Ventilator, Airway Clearance, and Oxygen therapy administration and management.
  • Able to perform clinical assessments and make recommendations to physicians.
  • Equipment troubleshooting and maintenance skills.
  • Problem solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong verbal and written communication.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage competing priorities and tasks.
  • Independent decision making.
  • Computer skills including knowledge of Microsoft Office applications


Requirements

Minimum Job Qualifications:

  • Associates degree from an AMA approved respiratory program.
  • Valid and unrestricted RT clinical license in all states serviced by the branch.
  • Must be CPR certified.
  • Three (3) years of clinical experience as a Health Care RT or HME RT.
  • Valid and unrestricted driver’s license.
