The Office of Cannabis Management is seeking an experienced Senior Business Analyst to join our team for a 12-month engagement. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in requirements gathering, business analysis, system design, and implementation. This role requires a deep understanding of business needs and the ability to translate them into functional requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Perform requirements gathering and business analysis, producing comprehensive documentation of requirements.
- Conduct elicitation and documentation with stakeholders, including the creation and completion of project charters for automation projects.
- Develop business requirements by translating needs, expectations, constraints, and interfaces into a clear and understandable format for both clients and technologists.
- Collaborate with stakeholders, SMEs, process owners, and users to elicit and document needs using various methods (e.g., brainstorming, document analysis, facilitated meetings, focus groups, interface analysis, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, reverse engineering, survey questionnaire).
- Develop requirements for business needs and solution component design, incorporating changes resulting from architectural and design decisions.
- Establish criteria for the evaluation and acceptance of requirements, manage requirements scope, and obtain commitment from project participants.
- Analyze requirements to ensure completeness, feasibility, realizability, and verifiability.
- Represent requirements textually and via visual models or graphical forms to communicate effectively with the required audience.
- Collaborate with the testing lead to develop requirements-based testing considerations and strategies.
- Drive the Business Analysis Center of Excellence by establishing and implementing standard operating procedures for effective requirements engineering.
- Demonstrate understanding and experience with system development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies and multiple modeling techniques/tools.
Qualifications:
- 6 years of experience in performing requirements gathering and business analysis, producing written documentation of requirements; system design and implementation
- 6 years of experience in elicitation and documentation with participants in the business creation/completion of project charters for automation projects. Including determining how to capture and document requirements based on the development methodology used for the business systems. Meet with stakeholders, SMEs, process owners and users to elicit and document needs, expectations, constraints and external interfaces using various methods.
- 6 years of experience in developing the business requirements by translating the needs, expectations, constraints and interfaces into a format understandable to both clients and technologists, using various methods (e.g., brainstorming, document analysis, facilitated meetings, focus groups, interface analysis, interviews, observation, prototyping, requirements workshops, reverse engineering, survey questionnaire by asking the right questions to surface essential requirements information)
- 6 years of experience in developing requirements for the business needs and solution component design, incorporate changes to requirements resulting from architectural/design decisions, able to define attributes, constraints and other non-functional requirements.
- 6 years of experience working to establish criteria for evaluation and acceptance of requirements, manage requirements scope, obtains commitment to the requirements from the project participants. Identifies project work and requirements inconsistencies during defect / requirements management and communication.
- 6 years of experience in requirement analysis and validation, Analyzes requirements to ensure that they are complete, feasible, realizable and verifiable. Provide the capability to identify key requirements that have a strong influence on cost, schedule, functionality, risk or performance.
- 6 years of experience to analyzes requirements and represent the requirements textually as well as via visual models or graphical form, in order to communicate the requirements effectively to the required audience.
- 6 years of experience in Application Testing Planning and Defect Tracking. Collaborates with testing lead to develop requirements-based testing considerations and strategies that will validate resolution of the business problem.
- 6 years of experience in driving Business Analysis Center of Excellence by leading the establishment and implementation of a standard set of operating procedures for effective requirements engineering.
- 6 years of experience working and understanding of system development life cycle (SDLC) methodologies, demonstrate experience with multiple modeling techniques/tools to convey and gain agreement regarding requirements.
