Qualifications:
  • Minimum 10 years’ experience training and personnel management experience within a military environment.
  • Bachelor’s in related field with minimum 5 years’ experience providing quality training and personal management experience within a military environment.
Certifications/Licenses/Credentials: Ability to pass a background check.
Position Summary:
The Training Assistant will support the Training Manager with the creation and delivery of administrative training for Army administrative support staff and Non-Commissioned Officer In Charge (NCOICs). Possess proficient technical writing skills to develop and publish content. Training will be delivered in small or large group settings using a variety of training tools, including video, PowerPoints, cheat-sheets, and Army Forms. All training events shall have handouts and physical artifacts to provide to staff being trained. This position will be required to provide customer service to internal clients (employees and managers) in person and over the phone. Administrative Proficiency Training Content development and delivery.
Duties include:
  • Determine content. Consult with Senior Administrative Officer, TPOC, Training Manager and proponent support offices to identify trainings that will be considered mandatory trainings new/existing employees and refresher training requirements. Employee shall create a prioritized schedule for content development and delivery for each required and refresher event.
  • Content development. Assist the Training Manager to develop learning plans and blended (virtual, self-paced and classroom) course material using proven instructional design methodologies to multiple delivery channels.
  • Content delivery. Collaborate with proponent offices to determine the audience, training needs and platform for training delivery. Will manage all aspect of training delivery to include scheduling conference rooms, bridge lines, VTC connections, recording of sessions, scheduling actual trainers, distribution of materials and information management support as required.
  • Content and Training tracking. Manage all materials for each training event such as the sign in rosters and prepare summary of each event and provide summary data each month in the monthly report. Maintain version control of all materials in SharePoint repository for Intranet access to all Army staff. Will assist with publishing and sharing content within various systems such as the Army SharePoint All Partners Access Network (APAN) or MilSuite.

  • Support In and Out processing.
  • Create and maintain continuity books.
  • Calendar management.
  • Meeting support.
  • Hand Receipt Inventory and documentation.
  • Fire Warden.
  • Defense Travel System (DTS).
  • Supply inventory and management.
  • Shredding.
Skills:
  • Ability to be organized when data mining, formulating methods of collecting and presenting information, advanced experience with Microsoft Office software.
  • Demonstrates ability to establish and maintain high profile, influential and collaborative working relationships across professional teams, functions and layers.
  • Ability to think strategically, proven analytical and problem-solving skills, and ability to develop both short-term and long-term plans to meet an objective.
  • Ability to exercise confidentiality, tact, diplomacy and independent judgment in the performance of duties.
  • Responsible for providing transparency within job scope relating to tasks and duties that could impact people, costs, and/or quality of service.
  • Proficient as a technical writer to create and develop content that will be published on internal systems.
  • Demonstrated success with performing in-depth training evaluation to assess if training programs are aligned with organizational goals and objectives.
  • Excellent leadership and organizational management skills which include communication and interpersonal skills, and ability to work in a fast-paced environment that demands flexibility and innovation.
  • Ability to use effective judgment and sensitivity, experience working with a broad range of people, and demonstrated success as a team player.
