Summary
We have a current opportunity for an Engineering Technician ll located at our facility in Littleton, CO. In this role you will Lead manufacture and test of prototype and flight components with general guidance from engineering. You will be responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining equipment, and assembly and test of hardware, while adhering to pre-established guidelines and specifications. You will have the opportunity to lead, mentor, and even train new technicians. You will also play a key role in defining and refining process. This position will help in production, integration, and test activities with a slight emphasis on integration and test. You will rely on your knowledge of the field, judgement, and previous experience to perform the functions of the job. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required and specialized knowledge in a specific area of focus. Being selected for this role will mean you have experience in the aerospace industry and knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within the fields of engineering and/or science. In addition, you will demonstrate strong leadership stills, professionalism, and a positive attitude.
Responsibilities
Perform testing activities ranging from in-process test to integration and regression test to flight acceptance test.
Perform environmental testing including shock, random vibration, thermal vacuum, and optical screening
Lead the fabrication, assembly, and testing on hardware and ground support equipment with guidance from engineering only as needed for specific needs. Facilitate hardware manufacturing and test activities internally and externally
Provide feedback on designs based on experience and previous lessons learned
Troubleshoot and solve technical issues and document with engineering team as needed
Document new prototype / product concepts, manufacturing processes, and testing procedures
Independently generate and maintain technical design and process documentation in an AS9100 System
Perform manufacturing procedures, rework, and repair on spaceflight hardware
Modify mechanical parts using hand and machine tools
Identify faulty parts during the assembly process
Cross train in multiple areas of specialty
Model exemplary professional conduct as a representative of Deep Space Systems, Redwire

Desired Skills
High standard of workmanship
Excellent manual dexterity, ability to handle small parts
Comfortable operating tools, inspecting equipment, and other techniques used for precision manufacturing and assembly
Familiarity with technical drawings and schematics, and various symbols, perspectives, units of measurement, notation systems, visual styles, and page layouts of technical drawings
Basic soldering, wire harness assembly. Familiarity with industry standard connectors and wire harnessing technologies
Experience operating and maintaining complex test equipment such as thermal vacuum chambers and vibration chambers
Understanding of cryogenic systems
Strong written and oral communication skills
Familiarity with lab tools such as bench supplies, scopes, and logic analyzers
Possesses strong leadership skills and a resiliently positive attitude
Basic MS Word & MS Excel competency (advanced MS Office & Office 365 skills a plus)
Experience with environmental testing
Knowledge of optics and/or optical testing a plus
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles a plus
2-year technical degree (or equivalent)
Aerospace experience desired
Ideal Experience
High School diploma or equivalent
4-5 or more years of applicable experience
Ability to support testing outside of business hours including overnight and weekends on occasion.

Pay Range
$29 per hour

Redwire determines pay for positions using local, national, and industry-specific survey data, for our locations throughout the US. We will evaluate external equity and the cost of labor/prevailing wage index, in the relative marketplace for jobs directly comparable to jobs within our company.
For new hires, we strive to make competitive offers allowing the new employee room for future growth. Salaries will be based on the applicant’s level of experience, education, and specialized knowledge and skills. Additionally, we consider the external market rate, the amount we have budgeted internally, and internal equity within the company for the same position. An employee/candidate with a stronger skill set will receive higher pay.
