The role
We are currently looking for a User Researcher to join our rapidly growing Design department. This is an excellent opportunity to grow with Addepar and realize your potential. In this role, you’ll begin with smaller, more tactical projects that help build your knowledge and expertise, eventually taking on more strategic projects that drive greater impact.

This role is part of the Product organization and collaborates with product management, design, and engineering.
What you’ll do
- Gain an understanding of the users, workflows, and problems in your product area
- Translate business and design questions to key research objectives, leveraging the best methodology to execute research, to synthesize and analyze findings.
- Partner with designers and product managers to plan, prepare and execute ongoing testing of prototypes, designs, ideas, and concepts
- Present your methods and rationale to peers, design partners, product partners, and UX leadership
- Synthesize existing industry and academic literature and previous internal user research results
- Participate in user research recruitment
- Grow your UX Research skills and knowledge
- Advocate on behalf of Addepar clients and users
Requirements
- Loves working collaboratively with a team but also does great work independently
- A toolbox that consists of both qualitative and quantitative methods, such as user tests, user interviews, as well as experiments, and surveys.
- A portfolio of projects that showcases how they think about and approach user research
- Brings in a User-centric design approach that involves rapid testing and iteration of designs
- Excited to develop skills in a wide range of research methods and tools -- from usability testing to journey maps to discovery research
- Strong communication skills with the ability to articulate the value of UX and the rationale behind your research process and plans
- Ability to juggle multiple priorities
- Open-minded, collaborative, and flexible work style
- Ability to receive feedback and critique
