Addison Group is assisting a client in the manufacturing industry in their search for a proficient Payroll / Accountant to jump in and immediately add value to the team.
The ideal candidate should have experience in processing comprehensive full-cycle payroll, in addition to light accounting tasks.
Having manufacturing sector experience is a huge plus. Please note, this is a full-time position requiring 100% on-site presence.
Only candidates based in Minnesota will be considered. This role offers compensation of up to $75K, depending on relevant experience.
Key Responsibilities :
- Process full-cycle weekly payroll for approximately 400 employees, ensuring accuracy and compliance with company policies and legal requirements.
- Collect, verify, and enter timekeeping information into the payroll system.
- Calculate wages, overtime, and deductions accurately.
- Prepare and distribute paychecks or direct deposit notifications.
- Process union payroll, wage garnishments, levies, and any other necessary deductions.
- Create and maintain monthly union reports for the C-suite to review.
- Perform payroll-related account reconciliations to ensure accuracy and completeness of payroll transactions.
- Maintain meticulous records of payroll operations.
- Investigate and resolve discrepancies in payroll accounts.
- Assist with job costing functions within payroll verifying hours, jobs, locations, etc.
- Address employee inquiries regarding payroll issues in a timely and professional manner.
- Provide support and guidance to employees on payroll-related matters.
- Perform light accounting duties such as processing AR invoices, performing account reconciliations, and understanding debits and credits.
Qualifications :
- At least 3 years of experience in a full cycle payroll processing position, preferably 4 years.
- Strong understanding of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and tax regulations.
- Proficiency in accounting software and general ledger systems.
- Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- High level of integrity and ability to handle confidential information with discretion.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, especially Excel.
