Job Responsibility / Summary
Under the direction of the Warehouse Manager, the Assembly lead oversees the assembly of the assigned product lines, delegates the daily work assignments, and ensures the adequate levels of materials available for assembly, based on the manufacturing schedule on a daily/weekly basis, in accordance with company policies and procedures.
Essential Functions This list of duties and responsibilities is not all inclusive and may be expanded to include other duties and responsibilities, as management may deem necessary from time to time. Oversee the assembly of products, ensuring the highest level of quality at the lowest possible cost, while meeting company performance and quality standards and customer specifications. Assist other departments to ensure products are completed on time. Act as the technical resource to assembly personnel to address and resolve inquiries and problems. Assist in training employees in the assembly processes for new products. Ensure that all assembly line workers are aware of work assignments to maximize production. Identify drawing or material changes during the assembly process. Delegate work assignments to the assembly personnel, ensuring the best use of individual skill sets. Ensure there are adequate levels of materials available for assembly. Assist Inventory Control with identifying all components, sub-assembled parts for proper movement of materials. Complete special projects as assigned. Complete and maintain all required paperwork, records, documents, etc. Follow and comply with all safety and work rules and regulations. Maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
Secondary Functions Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Outstanding Organizational and leadership abilities. Communicate with the Production Control Manager to establish priorities and follow production schedule. Printing work orders, labels, and or other required documentation required for production. Verify components are available for production. Identify and correct production line issues, while meeting deadlines and quality standards. Verify accuracy of information, communicate inaccuracies with the Production Control.
Education and/or Experience
High school diploma or GED. at least 2 year of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis.
Job Specifications Knowledge: Strong back ground in all Microsoft office suite programs Strong background in process improvement or continuous improvement methodology is a positive. Proficiency in MRP systems. Ability to prepare routine administrative paperwork Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or scheduled form. Analytical / Interpersonal Skills: Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills Personnel patients required to manage personnel that need more training and guidance Physical demands: Ability to stand on your feet for long periods of time. Regularly required to sit and use hands to finder, handle, or touch objects, tools, or controls. Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
