Primary responsibilities for Machine Operators include:
Tending to fabricating machines Reading job specifications, part prints, operator instructions and SPC control charts provided in the production kit to determine machine adjustments and material requirements Positioning workpiece against stops or align layout marks with die or blade Observing machine operation to detect workpiece defects or machine malfunction Removing burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from workpiece Performing minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or workpieces Communicating with material handlers, set-up personnel, and leads as necessary to insure availability of proper tools and materials to complete job
