What are the responsibilities and job description for the Cybersecurity Apprentice - Flexible Role position at Adelia Risk?
We're a small cybersecurity firm looking for someone local to join our team for 30-40 hours per week.
We're flexible on hours and we all work from home. This is a great job for someone looking to balance work with family.
The right person will:
- Have a college degree (or at least a clever reason explanation as to why they think college is useless).
- Be fairly technical -- you're not a software engineer, but you're not helpless around computers. You know how to Google for answers when you get stuck. Maybe you've flirted with the idea of coding, or you've at least spent some time in admin consoles of web-based applications.
- Be curious -- we'll teach you what you need to know for the job, but you need to be eager to learn.
- Will have a good bedside manner -- a lot of the job is helping clients with technical challenges, and you'll need to be friendly and helpful.
- Be a VERY clear written communicator with full command of proper spelling and grammar -- most of our work is done via email and instant messaging, both internally and with clients.
- Have some work experience in an office/professional environment.
The following are not required, but are preferred:
- Experience working in a heavily regulated industry (like banking, healthcare, government, etc.).
- Experience with marketing, IT, or cybersecurity.
- Experience working in a remote environment.
Your tasks will include:
- Handling cybersecurity alerts from various monitoring systems
- Helping our clients with common help requests
- Building client-facing reports
- Help with gap assessments and risk assessments
- Research and writing articles and forum responses on various cybersecurity topics
- Reviews on vendor cybersecurity reports
- Other tasks as agreed
There is potential for this to grow into a client-facing role for the right candidate.
This is a fantastic role for someone who is looking to pivot into cybersecurity and get exposure to all aspects of a good cybersecurity program, while also helping companies to protect themselves against hackers.
The ideal candidate will be within driving range of New Bedford MA, and will be able to visit our office in New Bedford once or twice a month.
