PRIMARY FUNCTION:
The Finance division requires a highly skilled budget analyst to provide insights into ADL’s spending and revenue. The analyst will track spending by division on a monthly basis and monitor deviations from the budget. In addition, the role will assist in tracking headcount across ADL. The analyst will have experience in accounting and budgeting systems such as Intacct, Workday, or similar programs. This role will also serve as a liaison with division leaders on budget-related matters. The Budget Analyst will organize data, generate recurring and ad-hoc reports, and serve as a central resource on both expense and revenue matters to improve the Organization’s overall financial position.
Responsibilities
Primary:
- Works within the Finance Division to deliver data-rich, timely (daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually) reporting for revenues and expenses.
- Continually monitor spending and revenues against the budget and analyze variances.
- Become an advanced user of Intacct and Workday and be able to provide support to other users. Advise and support organization to evaluate and select appropriate analytics and tracking tools.
- Develop and maintain analysis and reporting. This encompasses communicating effectively to understand, document and model stakeholders’ requirements.
- Become familiar with data in order to identify and investigate anomalies.
- Evaluate spending data for potential areas to monitor and achieve savings.
- Remain abreast of current best practices in analytics to consistently bring innovation and an informed, agile, proactive analytics perspective to the team.
- Provide project management support for budgeting process and revenue generation using the Organization’s revenue and accounting systems.
Qualifications
Skills:
- Ability to manipulate complex data sets for use in analysis and presentations.
- Advanced fluency in Excel and PowerPoint.
- Experience working in and reporting from CRM database applications required. Salesforce, Intacct, and Workday experience preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and work well as a member of a team.
- Ability to conceptualize and develop proactive prospecting and trend analysis methodologies to support organizational goals.
- Effective in building strong working relationships and collaborating across the organization to problem-solve.
- Ability to work efficiently in a virtual environment with off-site colleagues.
- Agile in working on multiple concurrent deliverables.
- A problem-solving focus, an astute attention to detail, and the ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information.
- Excellent customer service and communications skills.
Work Experience:
- 5 years of experience in budgeting or financial analysis and reporting or a related field required
- Experience in non-profit revenues or budgeting preferred
- Experience with Salesforce, Intacct and Workday preferred
- Previous work in a national organization with multiple regional offices a plus
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience required
- Finance, accounting, statistics, economics, or degree in related field preferred
Work Environment:

Compensation:
- This position has a salary range of $66,000 to $80,000. This salary range is reflective of a position based in New York, New York. Please note that actual salaries are commensurate with experience and reflect the budget for a given position, and since ADL has a location-based compensation structure, there may be a different range for candidates in other locations.
