The challenge
Based at Adobe’s Headquarters in San Jose, CA and reporting to the Vice President of Employee Workplace Solutions, the VP of Global Safety leads the team responsible for the health, safety and security of Adobe’s world-wide population and facilities. This includes establishing strategic objectives, crafting operational plans and delivering various programs and services to meet the needs of the company. We are looking for a dynamic manager with high EQ who values service and experience over rigidity to lead this team and enhance Adobe’s overall workplace experience and enable the business. This leader will build a vision, grounded in risk mitigation and management, in support of the company’s accountability to its shareholders; business goals, strategies and execution strategies; and Enterprise Risk Management imperatives. This role leads all aspects of a department of Adobe security professionals assigned around the world and a budget in excess of $15 million.
As head of physical security for this organization, Environmental Health & Safety and Workplace Technology teams Successful performance will require building positive relationships with peers in Real Estate & Facilities Operations, Employee Solutions, Legal, Global Finance, Corporate Strategy, Business Development and other collaborators across the business. The position requires approximately 20% travel, including to all major global business sites.
What you’ll do
- Lead global, enterprise-wide, life-safety and security programs and continuously scale mitigation strategies to address evolving risks to include, but not limited to:
- Global Security Operations Centers and cross-functional, enterprise security technology solutions
- Environment, Health & Safety program (Emergency Response Team program, regulatory compliance, ergonomic health & safety, etc.)
- Safety & security training, learning and development, Safety & security vendor management and responsible for country threat and travel security
- Executive protection and aviation security and workplace violence prevention
- Safety & security risk assessment/audit/compliance/governance methodology – physical and technical security
- Strategically attract, retain, and develop talent; craft and implement sustainable organizational capability via proactive succession planning and focus on diversity, equity and inclusion
- Own the crisis management, enterprise resilience and business continuity programs. Be the leader for Adobe through times of adversity, as an executive-level, risk management authority and spokesperson.
- Continuously develop and lead Adobe’s geopolitical risk and strategy capabilities.
- Deliver leadership and accountability to Adobe’s Chief Audit Executive, engaging as appropriate with the Board Audit Committee.
- Lead engagement with the U.S. government national security community, to include as a senior company leader on nation-state cybersecurity threats, the protection of intellectual property and insider threat countermeasures.
- Via classified and unclassified engagement, maintain a strong network of government (FBI/DSAC, State Dept./OSAC, local and international law enforcement), industry partners, private and public sector peer network groups (ISMA, security working groups, peer companies, etc.), leading benchmarks, and play a leading role in industry safety & security forums and organizations.
- Develop an investigative program in partnership with Legal, Employee Experience and other groups as required for policy violations, worker misconduct, criminal activity, workplace threats and other potential risks to Adobe and our personnel
- Responsible for establishing multi-year Safety & Security budget, staffing and security capital improvement plans to support overall strategy and influencing Sr. Leaders with strong vision and justification plans
What you need to succeed
- Strong leadership without ego
- Ability to optimally inspire, influence and lead across countries, cultures and business priorities
- Be comfortable working with Sr. Leaders and Executive staff
- Corporate investigative experience
- Experience leading global teams across many countries
- Bachelor’s degree required and at least 15 years related work experience, at least 5 years of which should be in corporate security management
- Previous government intelligence, national security, threat analysis, law enforcement or related government experience preferred
