About the role
We are actively seeking a Junior Accountant to join the team in Irvine, CA.
Reports to: Accounting Supervisor & Controller
Hours/Schedule: Full-time
Work environment: In-office/Onsite

About the role:
Accounting support to President, Vice Presidents, Controller, Accounting Supervisor, and properties.
What you’ll do:
• Review, post and commit payables for properties weekly.
• Ensure there are no duplicate payments nor missing payables.
• Upload attached invoices to imported payables such as Payroll and WSH Reimbursements.
• Prepare Cash Balance Summary prior to each check run.
• Processing checks weekly for all payables due.
• Prepare weekly A/P Aging for review after check runs.
• Mailing of all checks issued weekly.
• Cut disposition of deposit check when needed.
• Processing all vendor inquiries.
• Answering questions from property managers/regional managers.
• Communicate with mangers when invoices are due or invoices entered incorrectly.
• Setup new vendors in Yardi and Vendor Credentialing.
• Enter date of check cut for all recurring payables on Master Checklist.
• Take checks to the bank and record the deposit when needed.
• Bank Reconciliation for property bank accounts.
• Process Journal Entries for utilities, security deposit and recurring expenses.
• Review Balance Sheet to match A/R and AP Aging reports, Rent Roll.
• Review Income Statement for vacancy loss and review those expenses are coded correctly.
• Produce financial reports so your supervisor can review.
• Assist with uploading financial documents to FTP site.
• Prepare and Submit Operating Deficit Request as needed.
• Prepare and mail the 1099-Misc and 1096 forms.
• Driving to local areas, company meetings and properties when necessary.
• Daily review of all emails and respond as necessary within 24 hours.
• Greet and assist office visitors as necessary.
• Projects may be assigned from time to time.
• Any and all other jobs assigned by President, Vice Presidents, Controller or Accounting Supervisor.
Our ideal candidate:
• Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Accounting with one plus years’ related experience or Associates degree in Accounting with two plus years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Must have a valid Driver’s License, reliable transportation and maintain auto insurance coverage as your position may require some driving.
• Competence in personal computer skills, keyboard, internet search, math, Microsoft Office Suite/Office 365 including Word, Excel, Outlook as well as property management software applications.
• Present self in a neat, clean, and professional manner at all times throughout the workday and/or whenever present at the community or representing the company.
• Comply with expectations as demonstrated in the Employee Handbook.
• Ability to make decisions, meet targets and work under pressure.
• Written and oral communication skills, including grammar, sentence structure and spelling.
• Familiar with and ability to use email, fax, scan, and cell phone.
• It is expected that all electronic communications are responded to within a timely manner (24 hours or less) unless additional information is required. If additional information is required then a response must be made to notify necessary parties of the additional time required.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
