In this role you will lead efforts to digitally transform our business processes and the client experience of ADP’s products and solutions.  You will be part of the National Accounts BI & Data Science team and work with a group of data scientists and BI developers to solve real-world business challenges and make decisions on tools, processes, and best practices for the team to follow.  You will create data pipelines using one of the world’s most comprehensive employment data sets, automate interfaces between ADP and 3^rd party systems, and package data for Analytics developers and analysts to use.

We’re looking for someone who excels when no two days are the same.  Everyday projects range from designing and implementing new interfaces, evaluating new tools and data frameworks, working alongside a data scientist to build AI / ML models, and engaging internal clients to discover their needs and translate them into technical solutions.  You will be the lead for data pipelines and data automation for the team and represent the group to other internal stakeholders.

To thrive in this role, you will apply your knowledge of data automation, industry experience, and communication skills to determine requirements, apply best practices, propose solutions, and create data integrations to support business operations and the analytics team.  You should be an expert in SQL and have experience building data warehouses and data automation with SSIS, Databricks, and API sources.  You will have experience in evaluating and selecting data tools and frameworks, and teaching others about them.  Most of all, you need a problem-solving mindset.  Our best engineers are creative thinkers, continually seeking new ways to help our team work smarter, and bringing out novel solutions to difficult problems.  And when you do something well, share that solution with others so they can learn.

WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Here's what you can expect on a typical day:

• Collaborate and Build.  You will collaborate with the analytics teams and other ADP data groups to lead, design, and implement data interfaces and automation solutions, using a variety of data sources and integration methods.  You will create strong relationships with stakeholders and understand their business needs and how our team can help them meet their goals to make everyone successful.
• Listen and Present.  You will be part of a team, listening to needs, and then finding and sharing solutions.   You’re comfortable and skilled at presenting to both peers and leadership on your projects and findings.
• Challenges.  You’re comfortable working on products with tech we haven’t used before, and paving the way for the team.  Inevitable challenges will arise, and we’ll rely on you to look for a solution.
• Monitor.  You will design and deploy monitoring for the team’s scheduled data automations and be the owner for schedule maintenance.
• Product Ownership.  You will own our data interfaces, and participate from discovery to delivery for data solutions.  You will keep up with timelines and enforce project standards.  You’re proactive and hands-on, providing technical leadership where necessary, and finding potential issues before they happen.
• Learning.  You’re always learning new technologies and processes, via training, conferences, industry news, or from other ADP teams.  Operate with a willingness to figure out new ways of doing things, and if you are truly stuck, collaborate with other experts at ADP.

TO SUCCEED IN THIS ROLE:

• You will have at least 5 years of experience in relevant skills gained and developed in the same or similar role
• You will be an expert in developing ETL interfaces with an emphasis on SQL and API automation
• You will have experience with Databricks / Delta Lake

• Prior experience that would give extra comfort in the role include:
• Data warehousing platforms such as Snowflake, Redshift, Aurora
• API development tools such as Swagger, Postman, Python
• Database tech such as NoSQL, GraphDB, Spark
• Automation with JDBC / ODBC connections
• Excel VBA and macros, and converting to modern automation
• Self-service data solutions like Qlik and Looker
• Data visualization tools such as Tableau or PowerBI
• ETL / Workflow automation tools such as Alteryx and Informatica
• Pulling data from activity tracking tools like Pendo, Splunk, and Google Analytics
• Agile development methodology and practices

Strong experience with data interchange formats (JSON, XML, CSV, etc.) is required
Expertise in SQL coding and creating, deploying, and scheduling SSIS Jobs
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience

Preferred Qualifications
Exposure to Cloud platforms like Google Cloud or AWS, including services such as Amazon Redshift, S3 bucket, RDS, etc
Experience with Pendo, Splunk, Google Analytics API integration
