Day Shift: Monday – Friday, 7:00am to 3:30pm
Starting Wage: Dependent upon experience.
ADS is an industry leader in automotive returnable steel containers. These containers are used to ship various car components all over North America to leading automotive manufacturers. Our strong customer base consists of Honda, General Motors, Fiat Chrysler and many of the tier one suppliers in Canada and the United States.
Reports To:
Production Manager.
Job Overview:
The Weld Lead will be responsible for ensuring that daily weld sub-assembly quotas are being met and within budget from the Weld Department. In order to be successful the Weld Lead must communicate with the Weld Department team, Production Manager and Quality Assurance. The Weld Lead will explain expectations, and ensure the correct weld procedure is being followed to the Weld Department Team. They must maintain inventory levels in weld bays and ensure that parts are loaded and unloaded from bays in a timely fashion so that production is maximized. The Weld Lead will be responsible for correct number of weldments and weld quality. The Weld Lead will also set up and tear down welding bays as directed by the Production Manager.
Responsibilities and Duties:
· Know and understand the daily and weekly plan for weld sub-assemblies production.
· Communicate daily expectations to Weld Department.
· Manage material in weld cells and unload sub-assemblies or racks from work areas.
· Inform Production Manager on whether work is completed within allotted time frames for projects to ensure labor hours are better or meet budget.
· Review sub-assemblies being fabricated each day to ensure that they are being built according to established standards.
· Check all completed racks from Put-Up for weld issues or missing welds before taking them to Wash and Grind.
· Set up and Tear down welding bays for new projects per Production Manager.
· Other duties as assigned by the Production Manager.
Qualifications:
· High School Diploma.
· 1-2 Years of Supervisory/Lead Weld Experience ideally
Skills:
· Ability to read blue prints.
· Forklift Operation.
· Adept at basic arithmetic and reading a tape measure.
· Able to communicate well both verbally and written.
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to lift up to 50lbs.
· Ability to continuously stand for full shift
· Operate in both Low and High temperatures.
· Ability to work in Noisy environments.
