Description

The Database Administrator will manage all databases, across all data centers, providing expertise in database backup, database restore, database integrity, data encryption, instance configuration, database tuning, data design modeling, and DevOps integration. This role has the ownership and responsibility to ensure the database systems are available, protected, and performant.

Major Responsibilities/Activities

  • Manage all database backup, restore, and integrity checking ensuring no data is lost.
  • Implement tuning activities across all databases and coordinate improvements with the development and reporting staff.
  • Assist the development and reporting staff with new data models and system design.
  • Implement DevOps tasks to streamline source code and deployment activities.
  • Work with the network and development teams to design robust, always-on database architecture.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Microsoft SQL Server 2008 and up.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Reporting Services.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Integration Services.
  • Microsoft SQL Server Clusters and Always-On architectures.

 

Qualifications


  • Three to four years of database administration is recommended.
  • A degree in Business or related filed is preferred.
  • A degree or focused study in management systems or computer science is preferred.
  • Microsoft SQL Server database certification is preferred.
