Position Summary
A B2B Analyst II conducts technical analysis of internal system mechanics and vendor-supplied external data to ensure the smooth and efficient integration of EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) data into Supply Chain operations, driving ordering and receiving efficiencies, effective inventory management, and timely and accurate payment of vendor invoices. This role requires strong attention to detail, a fluent understanding of supply chain operations and data flows, and the ability to solve problems across multiple business applications and business processes.
Principle Duties and Responsibilities
- Works collaboratively with internal business and IT partners and external vendor partners and third party EDI providers to ensure vendors are compliant with required EDI transaction set and that vendor-provided data can be effectively integrated and utilized by downstream systems, including the ERPs and WMSs. This analyst role is part of a team that is collectively responsible for the integration and accuracy of EDI data after it passes the EDI translator.
- Performs system compliance testing and data validation for inbound EDI transactions, including validation that appropriate EDI formatting/syntax is used and that data provided is complete and accurate. Analyst must identify and root-cause errors, effectively communicate corrections to vendors and third party EDI providers, and perform iterative testing until all formatting issues are resolved and accuracy standards are met. Vigilant testing is essential to maintaining a reliable internal data environment and preventing disruption of key supply chain operations such as receiving, inventory management, and invoice matching and payment.
- Monitors production EDI data for syntax or data accuracy errors. The Analyst is responsible for reviewing systems, reporting, and technical data to identify errors, determine error root cause, decide whether to temporarily disable the relevant data flow to protect business system integrity, and work with internal and external stakeholders to resolve errors and reinstate the data flow.
- As needed, the analyst also identifies opportunities for IT system enhancements or error resolutions, provides appropriate documentation to IT resources, and collaborates on design, testing, and implementation of new or enhanced system functionality to drive continuous improvement and capture opportunities of efficiency or scale.
Knowledge - Fluent understanding of grocery supply chain operations, including purchasing, logistics, and warehouse operations.
- Familiarity with documents relevant to grocery supply chain operations, including purchase orders, advance ship notices, and invoices.
- Familiarity with data elements pertaining to inventory management and supply chain operations, including industry norms/standards around case and item UPCs, pallet patterns, and load building.
- Intermediate Excel skills.
- EDI experience is preferred but not required.

Education - Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
Experience - 3 years in supply chain operations or data management is preferred
