THE OPPORTUNITY
The Sr. IT Ops Specialist- EDI Support works closely with merchants, inventory planners, business analysts, various other departments, customers and vendors in electronic communication of purchase order, advance ship notice, invoice, product activity and other business transaction data for Advance Auto Parts. This position will have input for training, configuring, and tracking performance of trade partner EDI implementations. This position will have responsibility to guide and mentor the EDI Support and On-boarding team to ensure all intended outbound and expected inbound EDI data is transmitted successfully both internally and externally.
This position builds strong cross-functional and collaborative relationships with customers, vendors and internal partners to fully understand their strategies and EDI related requirements. As the operations lead, the expectation is that this individual will lead on-going process improvement across EDI operations.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
- Understand AAP team functions and relationships as they impact EDI and the business in general
- Ability to cultivate relationships across functions to achieve business objectives
- Concise verbal and written communication with trading partners (customers and vendors) for both formal and informal training sessions.
- Take ownership and act as subject matter expert/technical consultant for the trading partners as well as AAP EDI Support team and escalate issues as necessary
- Act as technical consultant for the trading partners by identifying transaction failure trends and guiding them on the path to permanent solution
- Gather and document requirements for new, or modification to existing, EDI maps, applications, and process
- Provide input on design and test new EDI Transaction maps
- Provide guidance for on-boarding new trade partners to AAP EDI program
- Make recommendations for process improvement
- Oversee daily EDI production support and troubleshooting
- Reconciliation of EDI business documents using Microsoft Access, Excel and Oracle APEX database tools
- Data entry, export, reporting and analysis across multiple systems
- Oversee identification and tracking key performance indicators (KPIs)
- Must demonstrate good organizational and follow-up skills and work independently with minimal supervision, including ability to balance multiple tasks
- Ability to operate in a complex, rapidly changing environment while adhering to tight schedules
- Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide all units of measure; calculate gross margin, compute ratios, percentages, and create and interpret graphs
QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum of six years of leadership experience in EDI operations including on-boarding, data analysis, and process design within the automotive and/or retail industries
Advanced Excel skills Required
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree; and 8 years EDI work experience, including minimum 6 years leadership experience in EDI operations; or Equivalent combination of education and experience.
