The Engineering Software Support Analyst will be responsible for managing and supporting the CAD/CAM/CAE, Product Data Management (PDM), and various Engineering tools used by the business. This role will also support configuration management and issue tracking. In addition to creating software configurations, standard operating procedures, workflow processes, and best practices. This position will act as a liaison with Engineering to determine and address their needs, opportunities and deliver functionality that aligns with business initiatives. The candidate should have a strong technical background in CAD/CAE/CAM system management and support. The role requires an individual who is customer-centric and able to work in a challenging environment.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Application administration and end-user support of multi-CAD/CAE environment and Engineering tools including Cadence Allegro, Altium Designer, PTC Creo Parametric, SolidWorks, Flotherm, Ansys, Keil, NI Labview, and Matlab.
  • Support Configuration Management and Issue Tracking, including Atlassian suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), SourceGear, and Subversion.
  • Perform daily operational support such as system deployment, user management, license management, new installation, upgrades and patches, data migration and translations.
  • Liaison with engineering teams to determine and address their needs, opportunities, and recommendations.
  • Engage and manage 3rd parties to assess partnerships and work with engineering stakeholders on vendor or software selection, support and implementation.
  • Prioritize and handle service requests and incidents submitted through Ivanti Service Manager.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation on Engineering tools client and server installations, upgrades, and troubleshooting.
  • Develop, facilitate, implement and monitor engineering tools standards and procedures to meet customer needs.
  • Arrange and provide user training on Engineering tools as needed.
  • Participate/lead in project development and other ad-hoc assignments.
  • Resolve system problems or perform scheduled maintenance and changes during non-business hours as needed.
  • Managing time effectively while dealing with a variety of issues in a dynamic environment will be key to the success of this individual.


WORKING CONDITIONS

  • Location: Fort Collins
  • Environment: Standard office environment; some travel may be necessary domestically

  • Attention to detail, solid communication and teamwork skills with remote teams will be required to work effectively.
  • Exhibit sound judgment, initiative, and self-motivation and be able to complete tasks with minimal supervision.


EXPERIENCE:

  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience with and/or development, in electronics design and manufacturing sector.
  • Additional experience with more of the following is preferred.
    • Cadence Allegro, or Altium Designer
    • PTC Creo/Windchill PDMLink, or SolidWorks/SolidWorks EPDM
    • Analysis tools such as Ansys, Flotherm, Simulia, COMSOL
    • PCB DFM tools such as Valor DFM
    • Programming skills that can be used to automate engineering and IT processes
  • Experience with application support such as Atlassian Suite (Jira, Bitbucket, Confluence), SourceGear, Subversion, and Coverity is nice to have.
  • Technical awareness/understanding of engineering and manufacturing processes such as PCBA, DFM, BOM, CI/CD, and change management.


EDUCATION:

  • Bachelor’s degree holder or above in Computer Science / Electronics / Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.


COMPENSATION:
As required by Colorado law under the Equal Pay for Equal Work Act, Advanced Energy provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in Colorado. Actual compensation is influenced by an array of factors including, but not limited to, skill set, level of experience, and specific office location. For the hires in the state of Colorado only, the range of starting pay for this role is $90,000 - $105,000. Information regarding additional benefits offered by Advanced Energy is provided below.
