The Production Control Associate is responsible for daily production control tasks for assigned area with major emphasis on material flow and transaction integrity. This position monitors all job orders for designated work centers, job orders in production areas, and communicates the job status to appropriate department This position will also cross train to back up all other production control personnel in production and electrical stockroom responsibilities.
Primary Responsibilities
- Review material status and production schedule for accuracy and distribute to Line Leads, if applicable.
- Responsible for status updates of production jobs for designated work centers.
- Investigates material as needed for production including root cause analysis on shortages or job variances.
- Will complete work order variance analysis and corrections, accurately report work order scrap and lost parts, help control inventory levels in WIP, and data entry of jobs and operation completion.
- Responsible for smooth and timely transfer of products to and from production areas.
- Communicate engineering/deviation changes on jobs as designated Value Stream team or Engineering.
- Investigate and process line returns from production to stockroom including root cause analysis.
- Transact job activity into the computerized inventory system (Syteline experience preferred).
- Communicate and help coordinate fixes for inaccurate routings or BOMs with Engineering and production personnel.
- Deliver parts from Receiving to SMT & EA stock locations, if applicable.
- Transact material adjustment forms, if applicable.
- Assist in cycle count if requested for own stock locations.
- Update and monitor released jobs on job boards or other methods prioritizing by date.
- Communicate part shortages to Buyers and Master Scheduling.
- Assist in part put away and kitting if requested.
- Ability to work overtime and long hours as needed to support production shipments.
- Ability to communicate professionally with all levels of management, as well with internal department heads.
- Maintain the highest ethical standards, even when challenged from above.
- Understand and live by AIS ethics and business conduct policies.
Qualifications
Essential:
- Ability to work together as a team and communicate in positive manner with all levels of personnel.
- Be open to change in responsibilities and advanced cross-training in all stockroom areas.
- Maintain an assertive attitude towards problem solving and maintaining accurate inventory records.
- Good understanding of computerized bills of material, material pick lists, shop travelers, and MRP/ERP.
- Accuracy must be maintained in all transactions and inventory for both receiving and issuing material to and from the production areas.
- Must be able to follow and understand instruction with ease, both written and oral, and be flexible in performing job functions.
- Possess knowledge of master scheduling, material handling and inventory control processes.
- Ability to read and understand production generated reports.
- Able to recognize quality and or efficiency issues and recommend corrective action.
- Understand and apply appropriate quality improvement processes.

Education/Previous Experience Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Minimum of one (1) year ERP/MRP system and/or scheduling experience preferred.
- Previous manufacturing experience preferred.
Salary : $31,700 - $40,100
