Section Manager Operations – 159202
THE ROLE:
AMD is looking for a very hardworking Software Debug and Customer Support Engineer to join our Datacenter & Embedded System Quality & Reliability Engineering team to help key customers debug and solve High-Performance Computing applications on their servers running AMD server CPU and Embedded products. You will be responsible for collaborating closely with key customers, field application teams, and internal collaborators to ensure timely resolution of issues reported by customers and enable them to seamlessly adopt and deploy their data centers. You will work closely with top technology companies delivering breakthrough products in the cloud, enterprise, and HPC. This job requires strong technical capability, a good understanding of server CPU technologies, and highly effective communication skills to debug systems-level issues from firmware level to applications level, working together as a team to resolve them to the happiness of our customers. In this role, you will work seamlessly across internal development teams and our customers during critical issue partner concerns and drive issues to closure in time to meet key product achievements.
The Person:
Proven success working in product Quality and Reliability, with strong familiarity of Semiconductor IC Product Development, customer interactions, and project management. An initiative-taking, phenomenal teammate who focuses on teamwork, team building, and rapidly growing team success.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Experience in developing system level automation software infrastructure and CD/CI
- Experience working with compilers and debuggers, containers (docker, singularity), build tools (Git, CMake, etc.), building open-source applications for Linux flavors Ubuntu, CentOS/RHEL, SLES, and Windows.
- Experience in C/C , Python, .NET, etc.
- Good understanding and experience working in Linux and Windows environment.
- Good knowledge of server CPU and embedded architecture, Firmware (example, BIOS) settings, boot process, and BMC for hardware monitoring and management.
- Good understanding of operating system drivers and how to write them
- Good ability to communicate technical results clearly and accurately, and drive issues to successful closure.

- Good oral and written communication capability.
PREFERRED EXPERIENCE:
- Experience working in sustaining or customer partner concerns on enterprise products.
- Good System Debug skills with an understanding of interfaces and interactions between layers from firmware to applications level.
- Familiar with Windows Debugger and various industry hardware debugger tools
- Good understanding of I/O Virtualization, PCI-Express.
- Experience with performance benchmarking and analysis
- Highly organized, able to prioritize, and balance multiple work streams to tight deadlines.
ACADEMIC CREDENTIALS:
BS/MS or PhD in Computer Engineer or Computer Science.
