JOB SUMMARY:

At Advanced Physical Therapy, the mission of each employee is to enhance the overall physical health, fitness and quality of life of individuals by treating them with the highest quality, comprehensive and individualized therapy services possible. The physical therapy technician supports physical therapy care delivery by preparing treatment area, patient, equipment and materials; performing procedures, under the supervision of a physical therapist. Physical therapy technician employees are expected to maintain a patient first focus and strive to create patients for life, ensuring they receive the best quality service from start to finish. Above all, the physical therapy technician is responsible for demonstrating our core values of quality, service, relationship centered and applying principles of excellence, caring, ethics, respect, and communication.

ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

ROLE #1: Patient Care (80%)

Responsibilities:

  • Modalities
    • E-Stim
    • Hot/Cold Packs
  • Helping patients move from one area of therapy to another
    • Assist patient with walking
    • Push patient in wheelchair
    • Assist in sitting and standing
  • Educates patients by demonstrating proper use of equipment and exercise routines
  • Prepares treatment room for patient by following prescribed procedures and protocols
    • Keeps rooms, gym and equipment clean and organized

ROLE #2: Administrative (20%)

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with front desk responsibilities
    • Greet and check-in patients
    • Answer phone
    • Schedule patients
    • Collect payments
    • Scan documents into the patient’s electronic medical record (EMR)
  • Enhances the clinic environment by accepting ownership for accomplishing new and different requests

Total of all roles = 100%

QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma
  • Interest in physical therapy or occupational therapy
  • Solid communication and people skills.
