Overview
The Advanced Regenerative Manufacturing Institute ("ARMI") seeks to make practical the scalable, consistent, cost-effective manufacturing of tissue engineered medical products and tissue-related technologies, to benefit existing industries and grow new ones.
ARMI is in need of a Technical Project Manager to drive and coordinate technical project activities. This role, reporting directly to the Chief Technology Officer, is responsible for leading and driving project teams to deliver a variety of technical solutions to large-scale tissue biofabrication challenges. The individual will have ownership for managing highly complex, technical projects encompassing local and distributed teams of world-class scientists and engineers. The individual will be the key point of contact with highly technical, world-class stakeholders.
Responsibilities
Create and drive comprehensive project plans and lead cross-functional engineering / technical team(s) through the complete development cycle to invent, design, develop, and release manufacturing solutions that meet project goals
Translate high level project goals into a comprehensive set of working requirements in collaboration with both internal and external project stakeholders
Provide high level technical and people leadership to project teams
Drive delivery of aggressive goals managing project schedule, cost and resources effectively
Interface with internal and external stakeholders and manage relationships to ensure crisp communication and alignment of objectives
Drive day to day project activity to achieve results including solving technical and other project challenges, managing resource conflicts, breaking down barriers, upholding high performance standards, and meeting commitments
Domestic travel
Required Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 10+ years leading product development teams solving challenging technical projects
Superior time management skills and the ability to be analytical, adjust and successfully manage in the context of changing priorities and resources
Ability to work with varying seniority levels, including staff, managers and external partners
Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, collaborative team environment
High energy, drive, commitment, self-initiative and perseverance are required with a demonstrated track record of personal technical accomplishments
Emotional intelligence and ability to effectively negotiate through conflict
Ability to work with Microsoft software products
Direct experience leading projects from initial concept through design and release
Direct experience successfully managing schedule, budget and project resources
Desired Competencies
Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences or Engineering Discipline with a minimum of 15+ years leading product development teams solving challenging technical projects.
PMP or other project management designation/training
Experience working under a federal contract
Experience industry based lab liaising with academic collaborators
Direct experience in the cell therapy, industry automation, manufacturing biotechnology, pharmaceutical or other similar industry
