What are the responsibilities and job description for the HR Assistant position at Advanced Steel Technology?
Administrative Assistant performs diversified human resources, benefits, and payroll clerical and statistical duties in the preparation and processing of the payroll of hourly and salaried employees according to company policy and procedures. Maintains schedules, vacations, sick time and leave of absence records and assists with general accounting tasks as directed.
JOB KNOWLEDGE:
- Moderate skills in Microsoft Excel, Word and Outlook required.
- Requires skill in the use of basic office equipment, calculator and fax machine.
- Hands-on experience with an HRIS or HRMS, Paylocity preferred.
- Basic knowledge of wage and labor laws, IRS regulations, tax laws and related requirements.
- Familiar with scheduling shifts in a manufacturing environment.
EXPERIENCE & REQUIRED SKILLS
- Proven experience as an HR assistant or relevant human resources/administrative position.
- Excellent computer typing skills.
- Excellent organizational skills.
- Strong communications skills.
- Able to work autonomously and remain calm under pressure.
- At least one year of prior experience in payroll and benefits processing is required.
- Excellent computer skills, knowledge of Human Resources Information Systems (HRIS).
- Excel and demonstrated skills in database management and record keeping.
- Excellent interpersonal relationship building and employee coaching skills
High School Diploma or GED required.
Prior experience in human resources; or as an assistant, administrator, or in a clerical position
