What are the responsibilities and job description for the CISO position at Advanced?

Role Introduction

We are seeking a senior leader with proven expertise in delivering strategic transformation of information security and identity access management services. Information security is recognised as a key strategic imperative and priority by the leadership and Board, as such your professional judgement, insight and ability to influence strategic direction will be the key to your success. A member of the executive leadership team, reporting directly to the CEO, you will be values-led; someone who blends authentic, emotionally intelligent leadership with deep technical expertise.

 

The successful candidate will provide strategic leadership, direction, and specialist expertise on Information and Cyber Security for the Group’s operations, these include Health, Care, HR & Payroll, Education, Legal and Field Service Management. You will implement enterprise strategy, approach and processes to reduce information security risks across the business and enable services to be delivered safely and effectively

What You Will Do

As CISO, you will take responsibility in establishing a new national level strategy, standards, controls, and implement policies and assurance regimes to protect the Group’s information assets, services, and technologies. You will also be the strategic lead and most senior, specialist advisor for information security & cyber risk.

You will be an experienced and proven fully qualified cyber professional. It is important that you are able to provide evidence and examples of proven experience in each of the following key criteria:

  • Leadership - An experienced leader who inspires and builds diverse, impactful teams with a culture to meet the challenge. Able to influence as a senior leader in a complex, matrixed organisation of international scale, where you have delivered change despite having limited direct levers.
  • Vision and strategic thinking - Ability to set and deliver a clear vision and strategy, across the breadth and depth of a large complex organisation.
  • Cyber risk management - You have the ability to understand and manage cyber risk across a large scale with diverse and critical services, including driving standards and assurance. This is balanced with the ability to lead dynamic and operational risk response to emerging vulnerabilities, threats, and incidents.
  • Programme Delivery - You have experience in managing large scale cyber programmes working with stakeholders across the digital community, finance teams and leadership including workforce planning.
  • Innovation - The ability to innovate and work with across the digital and security communities to proactively build capability that has impact at scale and meets current and future risks.
  • Technical knowledge - You are able to explain and translate operational and technical complexity with clarity to all stakeholders irrespective of their knowledge or seniority.
  • Commercial Awareness – You will possess the ability to champion the security agenda whilst pragmatically balancing the organisation’s commercial drivers. Ensuring maximum ROI from security investment whilst effectively managing strategic security risk.

What You Will Have

  • Recognised as an Information & cyber security expert
  • Has a vision for the Information Security future and can help think through, develop and execute a new roadmap, spearheading a cultural shift throughout the organisation
  • Possesses the ability to bridge the gap between deep technical content and information that a C-Level executive can digest and use to make quality decisions
  • Strong technical knowledge across various technologies and strong experience building relationships and credibility with all stakeholders.
  • Professional security management certification, such as CISSP, CISM, CISA
  • Knowledge of information security management frameworks, such as Zero Trust, ISO 27001, and NIST
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal and collaborative skills, and the ability to communicate security and risk-related concepts to technical and nontechnical audiences
  • An innovative thinker, with great problem-solving skills
