What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Procurement Manager position at Advanced?
Role Introduction
A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a proactive and dynamic IT Procurement Manager to join our growing Procurement team. This newly created remote role will play an integral part in helping transform our procurement capability, leading positive changes in how we source strategically, and how we build and manage strategic technology supplier relationships.
What You Will Do
- Actively assist with the introduction of right fit sourcing principles and processes for our technology and software vendors.
- Liaise with key internal stakeholders to identify and manage a pipeline of sourcing activities.
- Proactively lead and or support sourcing activities (inc renewals) partnering with internal stakeholders to gather, assess and challenge business requirements.
- Lead supplier negotiations ensuring value for money outcomes.
- Foster strong credible partnerships with all internal stakeholders.
- Help define and introduce robust supplier management processes that ensure consistent management of our suppliers contracts and performance.
- Identify and act on opportunities and mitigate risk within the IT supply base.
- Help drive positive change as part of the procurement transformation plan, leading specific improvement initiatives.
Manage a Procurement Specialist as a direct report and actively support and guide the wider procurement team
What You Will Have
- Strong IT procurement, contract and supplier management capability.
- An understanding of software and licensing suppliers and principles.
- A strong self motivation, tenacity and a strong desire to make improvements.
- Ability to build rapport and influence stakeholders of all levels, balancing challenge with pragmatism.
- Ability to tailor communications and present information clearly for a variety of different audiences.
- A good understanding of standard commercial terms, contract constructs, and the negotiation challenges associated with these.
- Proven negotiation experience and analysis skills.
- An ability to foster strong supplier relationships in complex vendor landscapes.
- Confidence to work with ambiguity.
- Flexibility and resilience.
