AdvanSix manufactures a wide variety of intermediate products, including nylon feedstock Caprolactam, nylon resin, ammonium sulfate fertilizers, and specialty polymers, as well as carbon dioxide, sulfuric acid and anhydrous ammonia. AdvanSix makes Caprolactam to produce textile, carpet and industrial fibers, as well as engineered plastics and specialty films. Nadone Cyclohexanone is produced to exacting standards for internal consumption as well as for merchant sale. Naxol cyclohexanol is ideal for use in the production of cyclohexylamine and nylon as well as agricultural products, rubber chemicals, plasticizers and solvent applications. Aegis Nylon Resin – AdvanSix develops and manufactures Aegis nylon resins for demanding applications in flexible packaging and injection molding. Aegis nylon packaging resins are available in a wide array of configurations. Aegis nylon 6 resins can be found in a wide array of applications, including food packaging, consumer packaging, and injection molding.The Chemical Operator role is within the Hopewell facility in various operating units producing key raw material for the overall Hopewell facility. This position is in a stable work environment which has plenty of work including the opportunity to grow your career with increasing responsibility. These roles cover operating initially in field role (with progression to control room based role). The position works a 12 hour rotating shift schedule. The job requires the individual to work in adverse weather conditions (cold, hot, humid, rain, snow, etc.). Job Responsibilities:Adhere to standard work and standard operating procedures to ensure unit safety, quality and production goals are met.Responsible to take and interpret readings on various equipment assessing any variation to standard troubleshooting and taking action to redress and bring process back to standard.Basic Qualifications:Minimum High School Diploma or equivalent2 yrs minimum experience in an industrial/manufacturing and/or chemical plant industryAdditional Qualifications:1 yr Chemical Operations background/experience is strongly preferredAbility to work on a 12 hour rotating shift scheduleAbility to work in a team environmentAbility to operate a fork truckAbility to perform the physical labor associated with the jobPossess a strong work ethic and initiative to learn processesAbility to work at elevated heights - greater than 50 feetComfortable entering and working in confined spacesDemonstrated ability to deliver a safe work space based on following standard workDemonstrated ability to troubleshoot and take corrective action within an industrial settingAdvanced troubleshooting skillsThe ability to handle and work with highly hazardous chemical intermediatesAbility to wear and work in full body PPE (personal protection equipment) which includes acid suit (acid jacket & acid pants) – full face respirator & hoodAbility Load and unload bulk liquid chemical trucks and rail carsDemonstrated ability to communicate through multiple layers of an organization.Computer literate
