Position Summary:
This position will be responsible for overseeing the logistic operations to consistently meet or exceed business and customer goals. The role will have an overall responsibility for developing and mentoring Shift Leaders, Maintenance and/or Area Coordinators as well as building positive working relationships within the site and functional organizations.
Summary of the Main Responsibilities:
Accountable for all Safety and Environmental concerns in Area(s) of responsibility
Directly supervise Shift Leaders and Maintenance Coordinator.
Develop and mentor direct reports.
Drive productivity across key processes (bulk product transport, loading, and unloading; Operations Support functions)
Drive daily/weekly logistics goals/KPIs compliance
Responsible for investigating and resolving customer complaints within areas of responsibility
Accountable for DOT compliance in respective Areas.
Ensure training compliance of hourly and salary staff (regulatory and developmental)
Ensure monthly safety meetings and regulatory training are completed to schedule
Accountable for maintaining, revising, and issuing department/area SOPs
Accountable for coordinating MOC process within each Area of responsibility
Accountable for meeting cost center budgets in areas of responsibility
Responsible for employee payroll sign-off
Other duties as required
Required Qualifications:
High school diploma or GED
Proven people-leader with a focus on shop floor engagement and collaboration
Desired Qualifications:
Proven safety champion
5 years of logistics experience in an industrial manufacturing environment
3 years of experience working in a unionized facility
Bachelor’s degree in a discipline such as Logistics or Supply Chain Management
Proficient Experience level with Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word, and PowerBI
Six Sigma Green or Black belt certification
Lean manufacturing experience
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Overview of the Team:
The role comprises ownership of Marine Operations and Sulfur Unloading. You will be supervising Front Line Supervisors and a Maintenance Coordinator in support of a 24/7 operation. Your role will require close coordination with your team, the South Logistics Leader, Rail Logistics, Engineering, Supply Chain, Maintenance, and Contract Maintenance and will report to the Manufacturing Leader for the Ammonium Sulfate organization.
