You Will Be Responsible For:
- Analyze ED, same day surgery, observation and inpatient encounters for completion by the medical staff within 3 days of discharge.
- Run and distribute the provider deficiency letters on a weekly basis.
- Troubleshoot issues with provider deficiencies in a timely manner.
- Assist providers with timely and accurate completion of incomplete medical records. Most records must be completed within 30 days of discharge and some timeframes are shorter per policy.
- Monitor the medical records inbox daily and clear items from the inbox as soon as possible not to exceed 1 week.
- Responsible for recording all operative reports on the Operative Note Scorecard designating them as current or delinquent. To be completed within 48 hours of the date of the operation.
- Report all delinquent operative reports that have not been completed at the time of recording the information to the HIM Director
- Perform release of information as needed and/or requested.
- Distribute summary of care documents within 7 days of discharge
- Monitor Cypress failed reports and output manager and resolve issues at a minimum of 3 days per week or daily when possible
- Distribute carbon copies from transcribed reports at a minimum of 3 days per week or daily when possible.
- Resolve work items in CPA within 3 days whenever possible and always as soon as possible.
- Combine duplicate medical record numbers (MRN) and financial numbers (FIN).
- Perform scanning as needed and requested by the HIM Coordinator and/or HIM Director.
- Other responsibilities as requested by the HIM Coordinator and/or HIM Director.
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- High school graduate or equivalent required.

A high level of computer literacy required.
Job Summary:
Responsibilities include analysis of ED, same day surgery, observation, and inpatient encounters; running and distributing physician deficiency letters on a weekly basis; monitoring and clearing the medical records inbox; completing the operative note scorecard; scanning paper records in Cerner; resolving CPA work items; troubleshooting transcription errors; distributing transcription carbon copies; performing release of information from walk-ins, telephone, fax and mailed requests; distributing summary of care documents; monitoring failed faxes and resolving issues in electronic faxing solution; and combining duplicate medical record and financial numbers.
