Unit Description:
- 39 bed Progressive Care Unit split into two: one side specializing in the care and treatment of patients diagnosed with COVID-19, the other side specializing in the care and treatment of our patients requiring short term Supportive Care in the acute care setting.
- On the COVID-19 side, each patient presents with a diagnosis of COVID-19 however, they also bring their own unique underlying conditions that we provide treatment for as well: heart, lung, kidney, and liver transplants, bone marrow transplants, obstetrics, orthopedics, psychiatric, and neurologic patients just to name a few. We provide a myriad of COVID-19 medications while at the same time utilizing various oxygen delivery devices making this unit the perfect place to learn each unique body system along with the most up to date COVID-19 treatments.
- On the Supportive Care side, we provide compassionate care to a patient population that suffers from chronic conditions such as CHF, COPD, kidney failure and cancer just to name a few.
- We are a specialized, high functioning, highly motivated team that is as unique as the patient populations we serve. Since the beginning of this pandemic, our Nurses and Providers have worked diligently to form a unique partnership that continues to provide exceptional patient care, a one-of-a-kind learning environment, and a truly amazing team!
The role you’ll contribute:
The Registered Nurse entering a training program is responsible for providing and supervising direct and indirect total nursing care responsibilities to identified age-specific groups. Utilizes the nursing process (assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating) in achieving the goals of the nursing department. Graduate nurses and experienced nurses entering a training program will be under the direct supervision of a preceptor for all principal duties and responsibilities during the training program with eventual transition to independent practice after successful training program completion. Adheres to the AdventHealth Corporate Compliance Plan and to rules and regulations of all applicable local, state and federal agencies and accrediting bodies. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
Terms: 24 month Employment Contract Required for Relocation
Sign-on Eligibility:
- Applicable experience required.
- Internal Candidates and Rehires within 12 months are not eligible.
Relocation Eligibility:
- Must live 50 miles outside of campus address.
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of a school of nursing
- Minimum of six (6) months of experience
- Current valid State of Florida or multi state license as a Registered Nurse
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Education and Experience Preferred:
- Bachelor’s degree in Nursing
- Minimum of 1 year of nursing experience
