**The role you’ll contribute:**
The Chief of Staff (CoS) is a key member of the President’s Cabinet and provides leadership and operational oversight to the Office of the President in fulfilling the University’s mission and goals. Partners with the President and Cabinet, and collaborates with individuals across campus to actively drive the strategic plan forward. Builds an atmosphere of coordination and clear understanding of the university’s mission, vision, and goals. Represents the President with various constituencies, including the Board of Trustees, management, faculty, staff, students, alumni, and various external entities. Counsels and advises the President on day-to-day operations, ensuring efficiency and effectiveness and optimizing resources, including the management of the budget for the President’s Office. Collaborates with the Marketing & Communications department in the creation of executive-level communications including talks, speeches, reports, and presentations.

In partnership with the President, develop, recommend and coordinate long-range plans and strategies to create an environment that is mission-focused and achieves business growth.
Leads project teams for new or emerging initiatives, developing proposals to meet the President’s expectations and standards.
Drive development of strategic initiatives by structuring complex issues into phased workstreams and deliverables. Ensure project goals and objectives are achieved within the project scope and timeframe established by the Cabinet and management committees. Develop and present comprehensive and strategic business value propositions and plans to support the strategic initiatives identified by the Cabinet and senior executives.
Aligns with President in development, management and execution of critical projects and touchpoints with entities (internal and external), and ongoing tracking, progress/milestone accountability and reporting to Boards, committees, internal and external audiences.
Serve as an active business partner with the team of executives reporting to the President in the execution of the President’s agenda and strategy and leadership of departments and initiatives. Represent the President in select meetings and collect information from meetings, briefing the President, as needed.
On behalf of the President, manage correspondence dealing with issues and subject matter in ways that often requires considerable sensitivity, discretion, judgment or negotiation in replying to inquiries. Develop communication strategies for major initiatives and serve as a conduit of information and communication from the office of the President as applicable, to senior leaders, departments and to the organization at-large.
Research and obtain relevant market, demographic, geographic, regulatory and industry data to develop cogent assessments of external business and market factors, in concert with internal financial and operational models and projections. Prepare written briefs on decisions for the President and Cabinet including analyzing the pros and cons of options and business impact (cost, profits, people, culture).
**Qualifications**
**The expertise and experiences you'll need to succeed:**
**EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:**
· Bachelor’s Degree in business, healthcare or related field
· Five years of business experience in such areas as hospital administration, strategic planning, business, operational, and financial planning.
· Three years of management/leadership experience.
**_EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE PREFERRED:_**
· Master’s Degree in Health Care Administration, Business Administration or related field
· Experience in leading organizational change
· Experience in higher education
