The role you’ll contribute:
Responsible for all aspects of Revenue Management department operations to ensure quality charge capture and in accordance with all applicable polices and federal regulations. Is responsible for all charge-related questions regarding charges, by auditing patient’s account and providing written feedback explaining charges.
Serves as a liaison to bridge the understanding gap between clinical, finance, and revenue cycle departments.
Works collaboratively with clinical departments to achieve more accurate charge capture though process redesign, clinical team education, and monitoring of current state.
Collaborates with IT and clinical departments on Cerner for design and also maintains proper documentation to justify charges.
Ensures quality emergency department charge capture through the management of the ED charge auditor program, auditing all emergency department charts and timely assigning the correct charges before billing. Maintains an excellent relationship with the ER clinical team to ensure they remain current on auditing and resolving charge issues.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:
EDUCATION REQUIRED :
Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Health Services Administration, Communications, Finance Administration, or Accounting
EDUCATION PREFERRED :
Master’s degree of Business Administration
EXPERIENCE REQUIRED :
Five years in hospital-based healthcare, either clinical or financial setting
Three years in a management/leadership role
Five years of knowledge of chargemaster and revenue capture
EXPERIENCE PREFERRED :
Three years’ experience with billing and/or coding
LICENSURE, CERTIFICATION, OR REGISTRATION PREFERRED :
If clinical credentials,
Current registration with Florida State Board of Nursing, Florida State Dept of Health and Human Services, or other accrediting entity, depending on clinical field
