Advocate Clinic at Walgreen's is recruiting a part time Advanced Practice Registered Nurse for Chicago Fullerton Float. Expectation is travel up to a 30 mile radius from the Chicago Fullerton location 5600 W. Fullerton
Must be available to work varied hours and weekends- Must be able to work independently and see acute and episodic patients 12 months of age and older attending to coughs, colds, flu, strep throat, and minor procedures
- Experienced FNP with Primary Care, ED, Urgent Care
- Must be board-certified with current Illinois RN and APRN licenses and BLS. ACLS and PALS preferred
Position Requirements:
Masters Degree in Nursing.
3 years clinical experience in area of specialty.
This position will need to recognize needs and behaviors of a variety of age groups of patients and provide age appropriate care.
Well developed written skills.
Well developed interpersonal and communication skills.
Performs adequate psychological and physical assessment of patients.
National certification in area of specialty (i.e. Nurse Practitioner, Certified Nurse Midwife, etc.) Current Illinois APN License Current Illinois Registered Nurse license. Travel between areas of care. Flexible hours. Work under stressful conditions and in difficult situations. The candidate must be able to perform physical tasks such as lifting patients and moving equipment.
If position has direct patient care or direct patient contact the following lifting requirement supersedes any previous lifting requirement effective 06/01/2015. Ability to lift up to 35 pounds without assistance. For patient lifts of over 35 pounds, or when patient is unable to assist with the lift, patient handling equipment is expected to be used, with at least one other associate, when available. Unique patient lifting/movement situations will be assessed on a case~by~case basis.
Purpose:
Advanced Practice Nurses assess and manage both medical and nursing problems at multiple Advocate Medical Group and/or Dreyer Medical Clinic locations. Their practice emphasizes health promotion and maintenance, disease prevention and the diagnosis and management of acute and chronic diseases. This includes taking histories, conducting physical examinations, ordering, performing and interpreting appropriate diagnostic and laboratory tests, prescription of pharmacological agents, treatments and non~pharmacological therapies for the management of the conditions, which they diagnose. The Advanced Practice Nurse serves as a primary care provider and consultant for individuals, families and Communities in a variety of ambulatory settings.
