As Financial Planning Director, you will lead the finance function within Advocate Aurora Enterprises including directing budget, capital processes and long range financial plan and all key financial functions related to minority investments, acquisitions and strategic partnerships. Key resources to leadership and senior executive team for financial management of operations. Advocate Aurora Enterprises, a subsidiary of Advocate Aurora Health, is leading AAH’s whole person health strategy, which includes the development of a consumer health and wellness division, growth of new and adjacent revenues and corporate venture investing.
This position can be based in greater Milwaukee or Chicago area.
- Leads the budget process for all areas of responsibility, including establishing the timing, methods and process for the budget. Established controls and processes that ensures the integrity of the budget. Directs or prepares revenue and expense budgets for areas that support AAE, along with all entities within AAE.
- Leads the development of the AAE long range financial plan and the incorporation of that plan into the overall AAH consolidated long range financial plan.
- Directs the capital process, including capital request and approval process, tracking and reporting of capital dollars and preparation of proformas and other financial analyses as directed. Ensures capital tracking to align with long range financial plan.
- Establishes and maintains a process for financial evaluation and approval of all investments and acquisitions, including working with Accounting, Treasury, Internal Audit and Senior Finance Leaders. Understands and adheres to all governance process required for investments and acquisitions.
- Provides oversight and review to the data and key assumptions included in the development of financial models. Provides valuation recommendations based on financial returns analysis (e.g., DCF, IRR, ROIC) and/or prevailing market multiples (e.g., EBITDA, ARR). Compiles, updates and maintains financial models in conjunction with the category leaders based on new facts or changes in underlying assumptions. Provides regular updates to AAE leadership and key Finance team members on the financial analysis.
- Support key financial information for transaction negotiations while proactively identifying transaction structures and capital formation alternatives that further the overall strategy, serving as a resource and partner to the Category Leaders on growth strategy development.
- Builds and maintains financial models across transaction types (Corporate Ventures investments, minority investments, JVs, M&A deals) as well as valuation models for companies under investment consideration.
- Reviews ongoing reporting of investments (Corporate Ventures, Minority investments, Control positions) to key stakeholders within TOC, ELT, Finance, Tax, etc. Has a good understanding of the impact of the various types of investments and how each impacts the overall financial performance of AAH and provides guidance on that to key leaders.
- Provides support to monitor financial performance of acquired assets and new partnerships, including key performance indicators and a qualitative assessment of strategic factors.

Bachelor's Degree in Finance or related field, or
Required Functional Experience
Typically requires 10 years of experience in financial operations and developing and executing financial strategies within a large complex organization. Experience with M&A preferred.
