SCOPE OF WORK:
- Able to perform installations, repairs, testing troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and programming for the following system types but not limited to:
- Access Control, CCTV, Intrusion, Fire Alarm/Suppression, and Cabling infrastructure in an industrial/commercial environment.
- Installation of low voltage wiring and Structured Cabling IE CAT5e, Cat6, Fiber, etc.
- We terminate and install end devices for access control, CCTV, and intrusion systems such as card/badge readers, motion detectors, door strikes, maglocks, cameras, keypads, door contacts, etc.
- Installation, service, troubleshooting, and programming numerous Fire Alarm Systems including Silent, Knight, Gamewell, Notifier, EST, Fire Light, etc.
- We are terminating and installing various fire alarm devices such as pull stations, horns, strobes, sirens, smoke detectors, heat detectors, panels, glass breaks, speakers, etc.
- Completes all other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
POSITION REQUIREMENTS:
- LICENSES Current Driver's License and have own transportation, some provided.
- EDUCATION - High School Diploma, GED or equivalent training required by Educational Institution responsible for Apprentice Classes
- EXPERIENCE Has one or more years of previous low voltage experience (commercial/industrial)
- SPECIAL CRITERIA: Must be selected by Company Officers for Official Sponsorship in the Residential Vendor training schools based on Tenure, Attendance, Job Performance, and Test Scores.
- MUST PASS A MANDATORY URINALYSIS DRUG/ALCOHOL SCREENING and Background check.
- Must be able to read, write and understand the English language.
- Must be authorized to work in the US.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.
- Working knowledge of test equipment such as multi-meters, digital analyzers, battery analyzers, frequency meters, decibel meters, and communicating devices.
- Certification and/or experience with Honeywell, DMP, EST, Notifier, Gamewell, RS2, Netaccess123, Brivo, DSX, Mobotix, Hikvision, Pelco, etc. a plus.
- Experience working with fire alarm systems in an industrial/commercial construction environment.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The job requires working in all elements, depending on job location, time of year, heat, cold, rain, snow.
- The job requires an employee to have required personal tools with them at all times (waist tool belt as worn weighs approximately 30 lbs).
- Work from all type ladders (step ladders up to 14', "A" frame ladders, and all size extension ladders and carry and relocate up to 12' step ladder by oneself.
- Perform work at various heights, up to 90' or higher from ladders, scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks, or other safe work areas.
- Work in restricted areas (switchgear room, utility holes, utility tunnels, crawl spaces, attics).
- Wear personal protective equipment, hard hat, safety glasses, respirator when required.
- Repetitive use of arms, hands, and fingers.
- Able to work 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week, overtime as required, and night shifts.
SKILLS:
- Positively identify colors of wires.
- Comprehends reading and drawing prints and schematics of same.
- Bend conduit by hand with hand benders.
- Must use all power tools, saws, threaders, wire tuggers, hydraulic benders, and knockout punches.
- Capable of digging trenches by use of hand tools or operator.
- Practices and comprehends safe work procedures as outlined in Company Safety Policy Handbook, HazCom Policy, and Lockout/Tagout Policy.
- Operates two (2) handed tools/equipment, cable cutters, hammer drills, compression tools, jackhammers.
- Operates company trucks with manual and automatic transmission.
- Read and interpret maps, instructional manuals, specifications, work site directions, blueprints, and written instructions.
- Operate and work from mechanical personnel lifts (electric or gas-powered).
PHYSICAL FUNCTION:
- Must be able to bend, stoop, squat, crawl, climb, kneel, balance, push, pull and reach overhead.
- Lift 51 pounds.
- You are constantly moving your feet.
- Climb ladders.
- Completing overhead work for full-day assignments.
- Possess good vision (normal or corrected).
- Responsible for securing tools and materials from storage areas to complete their assigned tasks.
