The Deputy Design Lead will support the Design Lead in overseeing the delivery of building designs by the selected Design-Build team. This role involves managing and instructing the Design-Build work for the Borough Based Jail Program .

Job Description
The Deputy Design Lead will support the Design Lead in overseeing the delivery of building designs by the selected Design-Build team. This role involves managing and instructing the Design-Build work for the Borough Based Jail Program .
Key Responsibilities:
- Design Compliance: Support the Design Lead in ensuring all designs and systems comply with defined project requirements and goals, including managing RFIs and submittals.
- Project Delivery: Assist in delivering work packages to the required scope, quality, schedule, and cost.
- Coordination: Help coordinate design submittals, presentations, and charrette reviews with internal project stakeholders.
- Design Review Management: Assist in managing the design review process with authorities having jurisdiction.
- Progress Evaluation: Support the evaluation of design-builder progress against scope, quality, schedule, and cost, and implement corrective actions as needed.
- Multidisciplinary Design Management: Assist in managing the multidisciplinary design elements of the buildings, tracking designer technical performance, and providing appropriate technical responses.
- Subject Matter Expert Coordination: Help coordinate advice from Subject Matter Experts.
- Technical Guidance: Provide technical design guidance and review the integration of designs with other design packages.
- Design Documentation: Assist in ensuring design documentation covers the required scope of work and is produced to agreed standards, schedule, and budget.
- Project Planning: Contribute to effective project implementation by identifying key issues and participating in the project's technical planning process.
- Documentation and Quality Control: Ensure processes and activities are appropriately documented, with records maintained and quality controls applied.
Qualifications
Minimum Qualifications :
- Bachelor's degree in Architecture or a relevant field of study plus four years of experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working with New York City public agencies.
- Previous experience with high-rise construction and Design-Build.
- Solid interpersonal skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution abilities and capacity to build and maintain relationships.
- Effective leadership capabilities with demonstrated ability to foster a positive and collaborative work environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to resolve challenges and generate effective solutions.
- Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and effective communication skills.
- Fast learner with the ability to quickly grasp new concepts and technology.
