AECOM is seeking an Energy Engineer to join our growing Energy Team. For this role, AECOM offers the freedom and flexibility to work remotely and/or be located at a variety of Energy offices in multiple locations across the United States through our Freedom to Grow program.
This team works on a variety of energy efficiency, resilience, and decarbonization related initiatives for municipal, utility, and private clients. This position will perform technical tasks on a variety of projects including energy efficiency, distributed generation, renewable energy, energy master planning, district energy systems, net-zero buildings, monitoring base commissioning, grid-interactive buildings, and building decarbonization.
The successful candidate should be a dynamic, self-directed individual with an understanding of building mechanical systems, distributed energy resources (electric vehicles, solar photovoltaic, battery storage), and energy system decarbonization. The candidate should also have a demonstrated ability to develop and deliver innovative energy projects that leverage the use of data analytics to identify, analyze, and specify energy reduction measures.
The responsibilities of this role also include, but may not be limited to, the following:

Demonstrating the ability to identify energy reduction opportunities through the analysis of large data sets

Interface regularly with the clients to identify project needs and communicate engineering solutions.

Assess opportunities for building decarbonization, including renewable energy feasibility and beneficial electrification

Conduct energy audits and site investigations for large commercial, multifamily, and industrial clients

Identify and quantify energy conservation opportunities associated with lighting, HVAC systems, energy management and control systems and building envelope

Analyze utility data to determine customer energy performance parameters and develop applicable rate structures used for cost savings calculations

Perform energy calculations to identify and validate energy conservation measures (ECMs)

Develop cost estimates associated with ECMs
-
Write technical reports to communicate findings to clients and stakeholders

Qualifications
Minimum Requirements :

Bachelor's degree in Engineering required
-
4 or more years of relevant experience in energy services or related industry
-
Experience must include one or more of the following:
-
Conducting energy audits and site investigations,
-
Renewable energy assessment, design, or development
-
Energy conservation projects associated with lighting, HVAC Systems, energy management and control systems and/or performing energy calculations
Preferred Qualifications :
-
Master's degree in engineering, Business, Policy, Energy or related field is desired
-
Previous experience working for high performing energy consulting teams and organizations
-
Related licenses or credentials including; Professional Engineer (PE) or Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Certified Energy Manager (CEM or EMIT), LEED AP
-
Experience or education related to energy policy, project management, or economics
-
Experience that includes any of these industries is desired: Federal government, utilities, commercial real estate, advanced manufacturing and/or life sciences
-
Prefer candidates with demonstrated client-facing experience able to effectively communicate with and listen to clients and internal business groups

Modeling/Coding Experience: Energy modeling software experience (eQUEST, Energy Plus, Trane Trace, etc.), R/Shiny, etc. desired

Familiarity with fault detection and diagnostic analytics platforms, related programming experience (ex. Python) is desired
-
Fluency with Microsoft Office products, including advanced skills in Microsoft Excel

Strong written and verbal communication skills

Offered rate of compensation (California locations only) will be based on individual education, qualifications, experience, and work location. The salary range for this position is $87,778.70,756.40 - $162,390.59 annually exempt.
